Solar thermal energy (STE) is a
technology for harnessing solar energy for thermal energy (heat). A solar
thermal system is much more efficient at converting the sun's energy into
useful energy that uses the energy from the sun to heat water or other heat
transfer fluid. The solar thermal system - properly sized, would
generate enough energy to meet the requirement of Homes, Industries, Hotels,
Hospitals & commercial Buildings etc.
A solar oven or solar cooker is a device
which uses sunlight as its energy source. Because they use no fuel and they
cost nothing to run, humanitarian organizations are promoting their use
worldwide to help slow deforestation and desertification, caused by using
wood as fuel for cooking. Solar cookers are a form of outdoor cooking, and
are often used in situations where minimum fuel consumption or fire risk is
considered highly important.

Photovoltaic are best known as a method
for generating electric power by using solar cells to convert energy from
the sun into electricity. The photovoltaic effect refers to photons of light
knocking electrons into a higher state of energy to create electricity. The
term photovoltaic denotes the unbiased operating mode of a photodiode in
which current through the device is entirely due to the transuded light
energy. Virtually all photovoltaic devices are some type of photodiode.
Solar cells produce direct current electricity from light, which can be used
to power equipment or to recharge a battery.
